Throughout my time working in an office cubicle workstation, I always felt like I was missing out on something. Working within the four walls of my cubicle was an afterthought, and I never appreciated what I had until it was gone. Now that I’m no longer working in an office cubicle workstation, I realize how much easier it would have been to conduct business and get things done if I’d had the right equipment and furniture the whole time! Here are three reasons why you might want to invest in upgrading your office cubicle workstation.
How My Office Changed
When I started working at L Shaped Cubicle Desk, they had a ton of open offices and each desk was organized. However, the company quickly found that open office desks were a terrible way to work because people were constantly interrupting each other which made it hard to focus on projects. So they closed off the space by adding L shaped cubicles so we could have our own space and get things done in peace. Now there are only two open rooms with desks for meetings or when someone is on conference calls.
In my opinion, it’s much better than being constantly interrupted by co-workers and always being distracted. I never thought I would miss my old office cubicle workstation but now that we’re surrounded by solid walls, it feels more like home! It’s also really nice not having to talk on the phone all day long anymore since it gets distracting. Plus, now I can use my computer without worrying about someone looking over my shoulder or coming up behind me without me knowing. Even though we can’t see what everyone else is doing at their desks anymore, I feel like we work more efficiently since we know that no one will bother us while we’re focused on our projects.
Creating An Amazing Home Office Space
The layout of your home office can be the key to how well you can concentrate on your work. So take some time to carefully decide how you want to arrange it. You may have a favorite place in your house where you like to spend time, so why not make that place into a little nook for working too? Or maybe your home office will be less about concentration and more about making sure your workspace looks pretty enough that it’ll motivate you each day!
The easiest way to make the most of whatever space you have is by buying an L shaped cubicle desk. This type of desk is great because it provides storage space as well as plenty of room for putting items out on display or keeping them hidden away when they’re not needed. If you find yourself with limited floor space, this is a good option.
Benefits Of Having An Office
We can all agree that not being able to look out a window is a pretty big con, but there are some benefits to office cubicles. The bright white walls can give you an instant mood boost if you’re feeling down and they make it easy for you to create boundaries between your work and personal life. They also provide great privacy so you don’t have to worry about co-workers or managers overhearing confidential conversations. Finally, because most L-shaped cubicle desks are set up with monitors in front of them, they’re perfect for people who sit at desks all day!
The monitor is positioned directly in front of you without any unnecessary arm movements. If you need to take a break from sitting, simply stand up and stretch for 5 minutes or grab a water bottle and go on a walk around the office. When you come back, you’ll feel refreshed and ready to continue working.
How To Create A Home Office Space On The Cheap
When I got laid off in December from my job of nine years, it was brutal. It felt like the rug had been pulled out from under me and things would never be the same. The worst part about getting laid off was coming to terms with the reality that for the foreseeable future, this was what my life looked like now. There would be no more (or at least significantly fewer) office lunches, conference calls, or water cooler chats with colleagues. And there’s nothing worse than not having a work identity.
So when a colleague offered me her spare desk, chair, and laptop at work while she was on vacation. And told me to consider myself working from home while she was gone well, I took her up on it without hesitation. And you know what? I loved it! Getting dressed for work in the morning is so much easier. Now that I don’t have to figure out how to do an outfit that makes me look put together. But also relaxed enough for sitting at a desk all day. Most importantly, though, is being able to have total control over when and where I work. Sometimes staying late into the evening and sometimes taking my laptop out onto. My front porch with my dog and working while we watch the world go by.
