What Happens Before Your Appointment

We want to know it all: your cycle history, fertility testing, your IVF timeline (if you have one), and what you’re hoping for. No detail is too small.
If you have lab work, test results, or supplement lists from your fertility doctor, bring them! We’ve partnered with every major fertility clinic in San Diego and speak fluent “RE lingo” (RE = Reproductive Endocrinologist 😉).
When You Arrive: Welcome to Your New Safe Space
We’re located at 2970 5th Ave, San Diego, CA 92103 — right in the heart of Banker’s Hill.
When you walk in, you’ll immediately notice: this isn’t your typical sterile clinic. It’s cozy, feminine, light-filled, and intentionally designed to feel like a healing retreat.
First appointment length: About 75–90 minutes.

The Deep-Dive Conversation
We’ll sit down and get into the real stuff:
- Your cycles (natural or medicated)
- Your IUI or IVF protocol, if applicable
- Diagnoses like DOR (Diminished Ovarian Reserve), PCOS, Endometriosis, unexplained infertility
- How your body feels every day (energy, digestion, sleep, mood)
- Supplements you’re on (or need)
- Your emotional health, stress levels, and any fears you’re carrying

Pulse, Tongue, and Full-Body Assessment
You’ll get a classic TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) exam:
We check your pulse and tongue to understand what’s happening below the surface. These tools help us identify patterns like blood deficiency, qi stagnation, cold in the uterus — stuff you won’t hear about at your OB or RE’s office but matters for conception.
Your First Acupuncture Treatment
Now the magic begins ✨.
You’ll settle onto a cozy treatment table with warm blankets (and yes, you can totally keep your clothes on — we just need access to arms, legs, abdomen).
We place ultra-fine needles at carefully selected points:
- Lower abdomen to nourish the uterus
- Ankles and legs to regulate hormones
- Wrists, ears, and head for calming and nervous system balance
The needles are so tiny, most clients barely feel them — maybe just a little tingling, warmth, or heavy sensation (a sign your body is activating healing pathways).
You’ll chill here for about 30–40 minutes. It’s common to feel deeply relaxed, emotional (in a good way), or even drift off to sleep. It’s your body saying thank you.
Aftercare: How You’ll Feel
After your first session, most people feel:
- Calmer and lighter
- A little sleepy (plan a quiet evening if you can!)
- Hopeful — because you finally have a plan
Side effects?
Rare, but sometimes a little bruising or tenderness where needles were placed. Totally normal, temporary, and usually very mild.
