After reading this text, take a 10-second break to consider the three most important aspects of the game of golf. 4… 3… 2… 1…
Now I’ll go over them in decreasing order of importance.
The ball has now been placed in play.
Managing the speed of the golf ball during putting (distance).
Throwing a lofted golf ball
Today, we’ll concentrate on what I believe is the MOST IMPORTANT aspect of golf: DRIVING THE GOLF BALL IN PLAY. This part of the game is the number one confidence builder in our sport. As you are surely aware and have experienced, striking your tee shots out of play quickly raises your score.
Put on your seatbelt: If you read this special report before each round of golf this summer, your pals will think they’re playing with Fred Funk by September. Fred Funk had led the P.G.A. Tour in driving accuracy for the previous four years. He hits 76% of the fairways every time he plays 18 holes of golf. If you want to change the way you drive the golf ball, start with the four essentials stated below.
THE IMAGE: Visualize how you want the golf ball to fly before each tee shot.
THE PERFECT DRIVER: Choose the right driver for your swing.
TEE HEIGHT IS SUITABLE FOR YOUR GOLF SWING.
SWING ON THE CORRECT SWING PLANE: Swing the driver on the swing plane that works best for you.
THE PICTURE: If you can see it, you can have it. Visualize how you want the golf ball to appear as it goes down the fairway before taking your driver or any other club from your golf bag. There are millions upon millions of words. My mother (the first woman to teach at a golf school in the United States) gave me a saying that has been with me all these years. You must imagine where the ball will fall and how it will fly. When using a driver, you must select where you want the ball to land. YOU WILL BE IN DANGER IF YOU DO NOT SEE THE PICTURE.
Important Tip: While playing golf, you may find yourself driving the ball wonderfully just to be met with a tough driving hole. Shortly after going professional, I played a practise round with Tommy Bolt, the 1958 U.S. Open Champion. We arrived to a magnificent 435-yard par four with water flowing down the right side of the fairway from tee to green and out of bounds markings extending down the whole left side of the fairway. “What will you do with the O.B. on the left and the water on the right?” After teeing off my golf ball, I asked Tommy. “Son,” Tommy said, staring me in the eyes, “if you see the water and the O.B. markings, you should find for another work.”
That is something that has stuck with me to this day, and I wanted to share it with you. Instead of focusing on the problems, consider what you want the ball to do. My job has been extremely beneficial to me, and I want you to benefit as well.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: Now that you can see the picture, let’s see if you brought the correct brush to paint with. If you continue to try to gain 20 yards every time you enter a golf store. It’s time to say farewell—RIGHT NOW! All you need is a metal driver with a graphite shaft and a new grip to drive the golf ball straight down the fairway.
Let us take a little rest. The loft of your golf club will have a significant impact on your accuracy. If your driver is giving you problems, consider upgrading to one with at least 10-12 degrees of loft. The lower the loft of a driver, the more likely the ball will slice and hook. You can obtain a driver with less loft if you’re a competent driver.
Aside: If you’re driving the golf ball short, low, and to the right, your shaft may be too stiff. If you are driving the golf ball too high and to the left, the shaft may be too weak.
If you have small hands, get all of your grips replaced by a club repair shop with junior or small grips. You should re-grip your clubs with bigger grips because you have large hands.
Finally, prioritise getting the ball on the fairway before increasing distance. You very definitely already have all of the equipment required to hit the ideal fairway shot. Remember that the swing, not the equipment, is what is crucial. Once you’ve mastered your swing, the equipment will assist you, but it will never FIX your swing.
TEE HEIGHT IS APPROPRIATE: Tee height may appear insignificant, but it has a significant influence on your ability to consistently drive the golf ball down the fairway. Something as simple as this is often the most difficult.
Teeing off too low or too high are the two most typical mistakes. Golf, as you’ve surely heard, is a game of opposites. This is a great example. Please allow me to explain why. You’re teeing the ball too low if you frequently slam your driver into the ground on the downswing. Because they are terrified of swinging beneath the golf ball, most vertical driver swing golfers tee the ball low in the hopes of catching it square.
If you’re having trouble with this, tee the ball higher, sit back a bit more on your heels, and keep your weight in that position on the downswing the next time you play. After your shot, check to see if your tee is still in position. You will be unable to hit tee shots if you are always worrying about leaving the tee in the ground.
If you hit tee shots to the right, the ball may be teed too high since you’re hitting it on the upswing. Next time you step out to play, tee the ball a little lower. After the golf ball has landed, ensure sure your weight is on your left foot, showing that you have correctly shifted your weight.
SWING PLANE TYPE: One additional piece of advise. I’m confident you’ll be driving the golf ball more consistently and straightly in no time. The sand wedge is the most vertically swinging golf club in your bag (up and down). The golf club that swings the most horizontally is your driver (around you, like a baseball swing). The majority of inexperienced golfers make the error of swinging a driver like a sand wedge and a sand wedge like a driver.
Keep the following in mind while addressing the driver:
Maintain your head held high.
Turn your right shoulder in the back swing level.
Swing the golf club around you as opposed to up and down.
Place the tee on the ground once you’ve struck the ball.
When you’re ready to start your backswing, keep your swing thoughts to a minimum. Think about swinging more horizontally.
I promised at the start of this unique report that if you read this content every time. You’d get a free tee time before hitting the links this summer. You’ll be able to drive the ball more confidently, accurately, and consistently. This may appear to be an easy job, but give it a shot and send me an email with your results. You’ll get some fantastic outcomes.
