NGOs have many programs to empower and for the welfare of the poor in rural areas as well as in urban areas. The concept of poverty and action and empowering the poor has been a very complex issue because the struggle to doing so all over the globe has been the debate or effort for decades. A person basically needs only three things – Clothes to wear, food to fill the empty stomach, a house to stay and an NGO helps them in providing these essential things for a living.
The main reason of poverty is education, lack of knowledge of their rights and opportunities, awareness, etc and here’s come the role of an NGO, who helps them in these problems by not only provide thing but also by making them aware for different opportunities by which they can make their life easier and also provide education to a poor child so that their next generation not face the same difficulty.
Lakshyam is one of the NGO for children that truly works to empower the poor and to educate them programs some of them are BUTTERFLY, ROOH, and TOY LIBRARY. In the ROOH program, Lakshyam helps women power themselves and girls to educate themselves for a better future and can raise their voice against the crime which they are facing or might have faced.
In BUTTERFLY program Lakshyam focus on the education of a child, lakshyam feels that the only solution for reducing the poverty is education, because if a person is educated he or she knows how to make their situation better., they can do work, they can not only fill their stomach but also of their family which will directly impact on poverty. Lakshyam also has a volunteer for NGO program.
In India where the youth is numbers and more and for utilizing them in a better way we need to educate them to empower them this will not only benefit individuals but also the whole of India. Lakshyam TOY LIBRARY program is for providing toys to every child because Laxshyam feels that a poor child faces many problems in their life not mentally but also physically and sometimes a toy can be their healer which can comfort them and give them strength.
Laxshyam is an NGO works in Delhi for empowering women and girl child. Lakshyam has two programs for empowering women and girls-ROOH and BUTTERFLY. Lakshyam BUTTERFLY program is to educate every single child for a better future and to empower themselves and make them aware of the opportunities in a big world and try to help them in any kind of problem which they might be facing or faced and helps to heal the mental or physical problem.
There are 472 million children in India which are 39% of the total population it means that in upcoming India we can change many things and we can change the poverty level, Lakshyam butterfly program provides a remedial education center for street children and dropouts wherein the gaps can be filled so that the children can be enrolled in form of the education system.
Currently there are 245 million women across India, who are unable to read or write. This limits the position and opportunities available to them in the society that is why Lakshyam NGO work for women to empower themselves and Lakshyam took a step forward to create an impact in changing the life of a woman from these background by creating the set goals and training sessions to make them self sustainable in the life.
